OBUDU MOUNTAIN RESORT

Obudu Mountain Resort which was previously known as the Obudu Cattle Ranch is a farm and resort on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State, Nigeria. The popular resort in Nigeria was created in the year 1951 by M. McCaughey, a Scot who originally investigated the mountain ranges in the year 1949. He stayed outdoors on the peak of the Oshie Ridge on the Sankwala Mountains for a month before getting back with Mr. Hugh Jones, an individual farmer, in 1951. Along with a friend Dr. Crawfeild, they built up the Obudu Cattle Ranch.

in the year 2005, a streetcar climbing 870 meters (2,850 ft) from the base to the head of the level gives guests a picturesque view while bypassing the very twisting street to the top.

The retreat is found on the Obudu Plateau, near the Cameroon fringe in the northeastern piece of Cross River State, roughly 110 kilometers (68 mi) east of the town of Ogoja and 65 kilometers (40 mi) from the town of Obudu in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State. It is around 30 minutes drive from Obudu town and is around a 332 kilometers (206 mi) drive from Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
